USDA Reports 2 More Texas NWS Cases
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) confirmed Monday that a calf had been infected in La Salle County, Texas, which is in the adjacent county to where last week's cases were reported. But APHIS also reported a dog was infected in New Mexico.
USDA Weekly Crop Progress Report
Nationwide, corn was 97% planted, and the crop was rated 67% in good-to-excellent condition as of Sunday, June 7. Soybean planting reached 92% complete with the crop rated 65% in good-to-excellent condition. Winter wheat conditions were rated 25% good to excellent and spring wheat conditions were rated 56% good to excellent, according to USDA NASS' weekly Crop Progress report released on Monday.
US Pasture Conditions Improving
Recent rainfall brought relief to drought-stricken Plains states this past week, with improvements expected in pasture conditions. Nebraska and Arizona remain the most concerning areas, with predominantly poor ratings.
